Ras Iration!
I read your letter and agree wid it wholesome. I met with and presented to the Nyah Binghi High Priest a 96 page complete document, when they visited Panama Rastafari Summit 2005. I am still here in Panama for a while.

The document shows how to organize a good NGO. I explained if the order was a non government ogranization, (NGO) with a solid management and financial structure, its important to set up the bank account as a trust fund with a board of directors who manage the funds. this give the donors confidence when you apply for funds, that it wont be going into any single member account.

The Organization has to run like a business. all directors will be volunteer, with paid officials who have experience in whatever department they work in, all Rastafari personnel can be recruited, knowing they will be working for a cause, and the organization will be able to afford for those skills.  We cannot rely solely on volunteers. in the initial stages yes but when it comes to the operational stages we need experts to make it work.

D I say it clear, we are not short of skilled Rastafari personnels and volunteers, we need to mobilize all the Rasta human resources like a dictionary of who can do and who cant do whatever it takes. then you pick the best people most qualified to run tings,
Is not who you know and seh a me bredrin dis so him have to eat, we can feed more people if the right person in a do d work seen!

The order can apply for funds, to build a school or hospital, but there is a procedure to achieve all this and it take time and patience.

I don't know what stage the order is at with the registration as a NGO in Jamaica, perhaps you could find out wa a gwaan wid dat an mek me know.

This way the Nyah Binghi Order can apply for funding, the order will need expertise in this field of filling out the grant applications, you have to have a solid management structure to build on, you can have all the funds in the world but if you cant manage it what a go happen d next year d money done and u cant account fe-it.

If you have the solid management you can't fail, once that is in place I see no reason why the Nyah Binghi order can't take it's place like any charity organization looking after the people who need good health , education, security and peace
you cannot rely on good will and sentiments to run a business. It is not an individual ting it's worldwide. for instance let the people who are qualified to run tings run it high priest can be the chairman if he has the expertise and know how, if not he has no experience he is the spiritual guide to the business, feel no way. its the success and preservation that counts we are only passing through, soon it will be time for our children to take up the mantle.

D truth is Rasta  deh-ya an naa go-way. in a d farward  world wide.

I agree wid u 100% Qrganize or get lef behind in a d 2000.

Bless RedDread Charley.
Rasponse to Ras Iration's Reasoning entitled Do the Right Things the Right Way from Ras Béni Gad

Greetings and blessed love to one and all in the mighty name of the Trinity His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile I Selassie I Jahoviah Jah Rastafari.

First and foremost I give all thanks and praises to the Most Hight, Irator of Zion and Earth, aswell I send out the highest raspect for the blessed Elders of the Nyahbinghi Order and of all other Tribes and Mansions within the Rastafari family.

Not long ago I offered I work and power to the Council of the Nyahbinghi Order to establish the same in Germany. Ras Xola is absolutely right by saying that the establishing of the Order worldwide can only become reality when ones and ones work closely together under the guidelines of the Nyahbinghi Council. Previously I have been proposing that in Europe, as in every part of the world in that the Rastafari family is represented, a "Continental Rastafari Inity Conference" after the image of the Iniversal Inity Conference in Zion S.A. should be held to promote and advocate the resolutions made in November and to establish the Nyahbinghi Order in these regions after the guidelines of the Council.

I an i have to organise and centralise, Haile Selassie HIMself ordered the Rastafari Family to do so! And I an I have to do it right, and I give thanks to Ras Iration reminiding the family of this task. One important step towards this aim, for I, is that I an I have to establish the Rastafari faith as official in the sight of the League of Nations and all Nations that it includes. This has been tried yet, and I believe in several States it is reality yet, but the family needs to become officially recognised throughout the four corners of Jah earth. An official status would have many advantages. To name but a few, it would be helpfull to stop the discrimination that Bredrin and Sistrin still suffer. It would allow the family to operate officialy and with recources of the different States. And it might give I an I the right to stop the exploitation of Rastafari name and symbols.

Mainly the two last points would be a great step forward for a well organised Global Family as they would prepare monetery recources to pay the administrative organs that are needed to organise and centralise the Nyahbinghi Order worldwide.

All love and blessings to His Imperial Majesty and the Rastafari family worldwide.

Blessed love, blessed Haile Selassie I.

Ras Béni Gad.

Rasponse to Ras Iration's Reasoning entitled Do the Right Things the Right Way from Ras Xola

I give thanks Ras Iration to iserve your consistency in this critical work of the Rastafari Ineversal livity and the preservation of order within the Nyabinghi Order.

There must be a gathering of all the Nyabinghi Houses around the world to establish the standardization and administration of the Order. We have too many differing goals and visions of our respective Houses around the world - their must be a centralization of the order and a Monastery for the ancients to pass on a singular Order of the House of Nyabinghi - too many Nya Lords are ordering communities without any order or oversight of their powers and privileges.

All the brethrens who administrate the Nyabinghi Houses internationally (including JA) mean well but lack the vision of the “Centralize and Organize” mantra that has been chanted for years now. There need to be first a dialogue with the administrators of all the mansions around the world to establish accountability to the international Nyabinghi Community –how are these priest and administrator doing; what are they doing? How are these community leaders being compensated for their work ministering and administrating to our community? Is there a plan of action?  Juggling herb for the survival of these elders is not a sustainable, legal and a respectful way of supporting the most important members of our community. We have too much to offer ourselves and the world to be looking over our shoulders while living our daily lives. We are our own resources of development and we are failing to utilize this valued asset.

A centralized Monastery or Secretariat to centralize our itation on the Order of Nyabinghi (most likely location JA but not the City). If we look to history and the history of the Rastafari movement we would see that mother earth has taken care of us. The Ital livity has kept us alive and focused on the land. I have made my observation that the last generation (1970 – 2000) our main source of survival has been the:

Land and agriculture – we have been blessed with bountiful harvest whether we live in country or city - the Caribbean, Africa, Central or South America; the Rastafari community move to the land in North America and Europe is a pitiful state for Rastafari with all the farming resources (technical and material available to us we have failed to utilize this valued means of collective cooperative development). A history of many communities of the world has shown that agriculture has been and still is the crown and glory of their survival. At present an evolving trend of thought within the food security community is that the African has been so psychologically damaged by slavery because of the work done on the land we hate the land and the culture of the land “agriculture.” We don’t want anything to do with the land – no farming and no ecological/environmental occupation. (This is most noticeable in countries where we have people of African descent and some other culture i.e. Asians – as in Guyana, Trinidad and Suriname where we don’t farm as much as African people elsewhere (JA, St. Lucia/Vincent, Dominica, etc.) – in these multicultural countries we are being fed other than feeding ourselves. In Guyana, Rastafari is the African Farmers in that country and I suppose it’s the same in Trinidad and Suriname.  Rastafari are the only diasporic Africans that have broken that chain and has returned to the land for our daily bread – we now need to institutionalize this rich legacy of back to the land for our survival (Rastafari Farmers Associations in every country to support our farmers). As it was in the beginning – it is a known fact that we lived in the hills and survived – and this way of life was and is practiced by Rastafari all over the Caribbean.

Music and Art – we have been leading the world in music for over three decades but have failed to institutionalize this resourceful item of trade. Roots Rastafari music (not reggae dancehall) the valued contribution of Rastafari music to the world “priceless.”  How is this industry benefiting our community? How could it be more communal than and individual asset of our community? At the Caribbean Rastafari Organization conference in Guyana in 2005 it was suggested that a Rastafari Festival of the Arts similar to CARIFESTA be initiated (Barbados was the suggested site for the first RASFESTA) - was it a follow up item on the agenda on this years conference in St. Vincent ?; I think this would be a progressive move forward to start organizing and centralizing Rastafari arts and culture as a community.

Ras Iration I agree with you 100% this is not a volunteer business this is Nation building and we need civil servants to administrate the community development of Rastafari – paid staff. Paid staff is needed to coordinate the thousands of initial volunteers.

I hope this call once more would start some dialogue on this critical issue of centralizing the Nyabinghi Order.~
Selassie I bless and itect the I to keep this itation moving forward.

Peace
Ras Xola

Rasponse to Ras Iration's Reasoning entitled Addressing the African Racial Crisis

HIM teachings on Race Consciousness

Three things we must learn, Goodwill, Tolerance and Confidence, to be successful in all our undertakings. Goodwill to each other and to all humanity, we must overlook each other’s mistakes remembering in all times that we are, none of us, perfect.” Malaku E. Bayen, Voice of Ethiopia Oct. 16, 1937

 Iloved Elder Iration I,

Blessed Love in the name of the Most High RasTafari Haile Sellassie I. I give thanks to HIM for the serious effort done by the I to improve the global Rastafari Nation ability to reason properly, with full Selassie I empowerment, about issues challenging InI prophetic Nation Healing mission. May HIM bless your Iritical determination and open-minded way of facing RasTafari Nation evolution.

I read with a lot of interest the memorial paper you shared with InI RasTafari Nation on last Marcus Garvey EarthDay, “Adressing the African racial crisis”. While it seems to me that Africa is facing more a leadership crisis than a racial one, and despite my Martinican affiliation with Aimé Cesaire, who fathered Negritude movement, I have to come forward on your reasoning enlightened by the witness of commitment from Malaku E. Bayen, who founded the Ethiopian World Federation Inc. in New York City on August, 25 1937.

Remembering the fullness of zeal and self-determination manifested by the highly devoted to HIM divine kingship, the Beloved and Honourable Malaku E. Bayen, InI can’t forget the wisdom our people drawn from Emperor Haile Sellassie I teachings on organizational field through the ministry of HIM Special Emissary to Ethiopian Diaspora. Malaku Bayen was the living tool, used by HIM when the Elders and Leaders of InI deported people came to HIM, looking for highest Racial Inity, Strategical Knowledge and Organizational Freedom in front of arrogant White Supremacy. By founding the Ethiopian World Federation Inc. in New York City the August  25 1937, Bayen fulfilled, in the name of the King of kings from the House of David Haile Selassie I, the promises sewed by Garvey’s UNIA (so, among the attendance for the Harlem 1939 1st EWF International Convention , the Military Units of UNIA was present, headed by Major Hines).

Reading your address in relation with these fundamental teachings, I missed the feeling of oneness brought by Selassie I statements on InI identical (diasporical) appellation… When the I are saying : “For what it is worth, to my awareness, the word Negro, is the only word in the English vocabulary which has not yet been co-opted or confiscated by other races and remains exclusively applicable to InI phenotype…”, I must point out and document the fact that actually the only term which, not only, has not yet been co-opted or confiscated by other races and remains exclusively applicable to InI phenotype, but received full spiritual acceptance through both Bible (see Je. 13:23) and Diasporic Black Man Traditions, was and remains the word “ETHIOPIAN” (considering “Kemet“ as a regional, partial, ethnic name for Egypt)…

Just as “Negro”, “African”, “Black” and so, “Ethiopian” is a word designed by white European powers (Antique Greeks, in this case) to designate all people of black complexion (even Dravidian people of India). Meaning “burnt face”, the word was progressively reserved for peoples of Sudan and sub-Sahara Africa (land of biblical Kush) by Eurocentric cultures. However, during centuries the offspring of King Solomon and Queen Sheba who settled in Yemen and East African kingdoms have been scorned by their Arabic neighbours, then colonial powers, as “Habachi” = “Habshis” = “Abyssinian”  (i.e. “mongrel”, “mixed people”). When Menelik II restored the splendour of the Davidic Empire, conquering land over numerous Traditional and Islamic kingdoms, he rejected the colonial perspective of a Commonwealth under strict Amharic predatory rule. Instead he promoted the ideal of one imperial state for all the subjects considered as equal members of one panafrican family, whatever was matter of religion or ethnicity (vision achieved by the gift of the 1st Ethiopian Constitution by Haile Selassie I in 1931). Menelik II took two decisions in order to embody this ideal:
1) the building up of a new and sedentary capital, Addis Ababa, and
2) the claim for a new official name representing the ethnical and historical vision (the common shared feature of all people of the country) self-expressed by the founders of the Empire: ETHIOPIA…

By doing this, Menelik II discredited the colonial puzzling strategy which tried to divide African people of the African Horn by assimilating Tigrean-Amharic culture as a foreign racist Asiatic one, acting as apartheid-styled elite. It is sad, but factual, to recognize Marcus Garvey advocated such a colonial Roman strategy.

Despite Malaku Bayen fully recognized, several time, that UNIA was the premise of EWF and Marcus Garvey the precursor of Black Consciousness, he also had to hardly fight through crucial reasoning the fundamentalist way Garvey opposed HIM resistance policy on the ground of denying the King of kings any African legitimacy. The first issues of “Voice of Ethiopia” (January and February 1937) edited a Bayen article entitled: “Is Marcus Garvey faithful to himself?” where Garvey was accused, as “Catholic devout”, to voice fascist arguments analyzing Ethiopian situation, to maintain racial division within the Black People in persisting to call HIM and Amhara elite “Abyssinians” or “Mullatoes”; and to disrespect the Federation in order to save his own financial and partial leadership…

Among the pedagogic fights Malaku Bayen leaded to establish HIM organizational teachings within InI Diasporic Ethiopia (working hard, exhausted till death), was the symbolism developed around InI ethnical self-denomination. Through the Voice of Ethiopia, HIM and Bayen shaped InI renewing with InI race pride and historical tradition:

“The paper lent its energy to the redefinition of African people. It made clear its unequivocal opposition to the term Negro, which it found insulting and a device to divide black people. The Federation and the paper adopted the term black, for its ‘clearer reference’ to a universal African connection than Negro had, which they regarded as a European creation. Blacks were also identified with Ethiopians. ‘We are no more West Indians and American Black people, but true Ethiopians under Bayen’ VOE proclaimed”

(Quoted from Joseph E. Harris, African-American reactions to war in Ethiopia 1936-1941, LSU Press, 1994)

Keeping faithfully the teachings of HIM as blessed son and EWF member, I felt the need to overstand your address from the fullness of Bayen’s witnessing, bringing forward a reasoning which reveal a lack of consistency in challenging what remains, according to me, the true effective problem Africa & her Diaspora have to face right now, i.e. the need of a new leadership based on a more orthodox revisited tradition, as new step to HIM Iniversal achievements… Maybe this brand new would come through reasoning such as those InI recently had through last St Kitts Trinity Trod. Maybe the I bright, lucid and useful contribution in the Spiritual Panel of the conference should count an added item among “the problems plaguing RasTafari Houses at present time (that) are summed up in one word: ignorance – lack of knowledge”, as you listed them; and that added (nonetheless crucial) item definitely should be “Garveyite traditions vs HIM teachings” as darkened by obvious Jamaican ethnocentric ambiguities…

May the fullness of Iniversal Love & Guidance freely provided by the Most High RasTafari Haile Selasie I shine upon InI Ethiopian Trinity Family, abundantly blessed by HIM Almighty Father of Creation, HIM Beloved Anointed Son of Creation and HIM Sounding Hola Spirit of Creation. May the Ivine works of Marcus Mosiah Garvey and Malaku Emanuel Bayen be fulfilled through the blessed commitment of InI Rastafari Iritical Family, succeeding in setting up from Zion the new Salem of Iniversal Love and Human Inity through the very saint Ises of suffering Ethiopian children scattered throughout the whole Babylonian world, in Africa and abroad…

Ina One Perfect RasTafari  Love,
your bredrin Ras Ali Babar Kenjah

Rasponse to Ras Ravin's Reasoning entitled Rasta & Politics 2

"MESSAGE FROM: GIDEON ZEBULUN TO: ALL RASTA OUT THERE.

Greetings to 1 & all in the Divine name of His Imperial Majesty,

I do give thanks for reading such needed words by Ras Ravin. Rasta bredda & dawtas worldwide... the time is now or never... so WAKE UP!!

Ras Ravin is right on stressing the importance of a spiritual overstanding of these times and of a mystical conception of JAH creator... In this, all Rasta agree is the way to Fulfillment & Salvation. For His will alone shall redeem the oppressed in Babylon. Yet, ever since I visited Zion Ethiopia... ever since I heard such wisdom by many Rasta... ever since I read the knowledge given unto I & I by our Abba JAHnoy and his wonderful counsel... I ask all you rasta out there... ¿why do you listen and obey certain teachings from His Majesty and ignore as non-sense the rest?

His Majesty ORDERS you to organize properly... I'm not talking about mansions, Bobo or 12 tribes or Nyabinghi... all that deals with the ever important role of Spiritual overstanding... but His Majesty, and Marcus Garvey, and Kwame Nkrumah and so many others... they ORDER all of us to use the scarce resource to organize. No.. the seas will not open and bring you to Zion, neither shall Jamaica sink under the sea... It will be the mental strength of all Rasta out there.. this will bring you to Zion and this alone shall crumble Babylon.

That's the truth with Rasta today, and anyone offended by such remark should look deep within and be honest... Face the truth, do not be scared... His Majesty worked political and so did Marcus Garvey... To perform political acts with no concience of our Lord Creator is foolish... yet, I have studied many religion and faith over time and none have impressed me as much as Rasta... so its time for Rasta to move beyond the talking, the discussing, "is this Jah or maybe it is that", "is Shashamani for EWF or is Shashamani for 12 tribes". Stop it!! Nuff talking division, His Majesty seh so, read his words, study his example.. and once again... WAKE UP!! The Rasta nation worldwide must stop talking foolishness... For example, it DOES NOT MATTER who runs the Shashamani land grant as long as no real organized effort is put into developing the project from the Diaspora.

The crucial battle for Rasta today is to live up to its own expectations. Rasta must organize into ONE BODY that represents its immediate political objectives, which are those that the Honorable Marcus Garvey fight for, those for which His Majesty battled against the world... Development of Mother Africa under sustainable projects together with Black Repatriation NOW! This alone matters, and this alone shall be attained under Faith & Work... for the moment, I only see faith. The next step... WORK, is a must, and it is a must NOW. Marcus Garvey did not inspire milions under his UNIA flag by just talking mystical, nor did His Majesty lead the way for Ethiopia by praying.

They worked, and they did so by political thinking.

This is not I word neither it is I wisdom, I do not claim to be so clever. This, my beloved Rasta nation worldwide, is the word and instruction revealed to us by Jah.

Blessed love to all of you,

Gideon Zebulun
